Homemade sweetened condensed milk!!!

 

A homemade sweetened condensed milk is a magical invention that can be put together in your kitchen. You need only two ingredients which are milk and sugar to make it, but those few items will provide you with a rich amber syrup resembling velvet like nothing else can. This do it yourself version allows for some customization as far as sweetness and thickness go so that they match what we like best.

Ingredients:

   4 cups of full-fat milk

   1 cup of sugar

 

Instructions:

   In a pot, put together the full cream milk and granulated sugar.

   Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently until the sugar has dissolved completely.

   Then, lower the temperature to keep simmering gently. From time to time, stir it to prevent burning.

   Boil for about one or one and a half hours until thickened and reduced by half; it should resemble store-bought sweetened condensed milk in texture – creamy and syrupy.

   Remove from the stove; allow cooling down till room temperature.

   When it cools down completely, pour into a clean hermetic container (glass jar preferable) and refrigerate.

    Use this homemade sweetened condensed milk in any recipe that calls for it or add some to coffee/tea instead of regular sugar.
